born in 1980, year of the monkey. this little monkey’s parents decided to emigrate from taiwan to the us of a for her to have better opportunities at the age of 10. life in the new continent starts at learning the 26 alphabets, and eventually (painfully) finishing her bachelor’s degree in studio arts at the university of california, Irvine. she first enjoyed a summer of fun-filled craziness, then officially joined the production labor force in los angeles. first working as an assistant at a local production house, she focused mainly on asian co-production work. as she explored the realm of film production, she found the culture of chinese advertising fascinating; this fascination eventually brought her back to taiwan two years later. after several years of producing in taiwan, she decided to move again while she was still young at age 27. first stop, beijing. then came shanghai. working as an executive producer at cheers films shanghai, she was lucky enough to join commercial projects for the chinese market in australia, new zealand, england, scotland, spain, germany, and united states. other than the exciting global travel, the greatest advantage of working in china is the chance to work with professionals worldwide. currently based in shanghai, she is happily freelancing as first assistant director or producer, however you need her assistance, patty is happy to help.
